Library Sportsmen's Assn.
Trap Shooting at Library Sportsmen's Association is a long and proud tradition. The Trap program is affiliated with the Pennsylvania State Sportsmen's Association and the Amateur Trapshooting Association. The Club sponsors a trap league on Thursday evenings in the fall and spring.
Many of our trap shooters participate in the traveling summer Mon-Valley League as well as the West Penn league. We take a turn with other local clubs in hosting these shoots.
Our facility includes 5 lighted trap fields, voice activated releases and air conditioned clubhouse.
Library Sportsman’s participates in two trap leagues; Mon Valley and West Penn. The Mon Valley League uses the best 10 scores from each team and the West Penn League uses the top 5 scores from each team. LSA’s chances of winning greatly increase if we field a large number of shooters in each league.
The Mon Valley league rotates through four clubs on Wednesday nights. There are both 16 yard and doubles events each night. To join this league, you must shoot one of the first 4 events; Victory Hill (4/18), Elrama (4/25), Library (5/2), or Clairton (5/9). There is an end of the season shoot where the season’s results are announced as well as the opportunity to win additional prizes based on shooting results on that day. The end-of-season prizes are based on ability (shooting class), so everyone has a chance to win.
The West Penn League shoots are registered; with 16 yard, Handicap, and Doubles events. The league standings are set by the 16 yard results and you are not required to shoot all three events for the league.
Either league is a great opportunity to improve your skills by shooting a different clubs. If you are a new or experienced shooter, please support LSA by participating in these leagues. Stop by the office any Thursday if you have any questions about these leagues.
